I have issues with enrolling babies (10 months old) in classes. I personally think it is absolutely ridiculous and ludicrous and that too much of children's lives are scheduled and I flat out won't do it to my kid.
SO... I have a question for all of you out there is bloggy land. Did you pop your little (baby) critters into classes like gymboree? Am I a horrible neglectful mother for not doing so? Is Nate the only 10 month old not in a class?

I worked full time for my church until I was let go because of budget concerns while on maternity leave for my second son. So I've been on both sides of the coin so to speak. As a full time worker I wanted to spend every single minute with my son because the time was so limited. Now as a (temporary) stay at home mom I understand why someone would want to have some adult time and/or alone time without the kids...it's better for you and them. That being said, I personally don't like classes for small children. Leaving them at Grandma's or a friend's house for a play date is one thing but leaving them in "classes" to get away is quite another.
I still don't Sofia in a class and she'll be two soon - so at times I do feel like a bad mother. But I keep her "busy" with play dates and activities around the house that she really seems to enjoy. I don't want to rush the time I have with her and I certainly don't want to spend the money.
That being said, I am planning on enrolling her in her very first organized class as her 2nd birthday gift. She will be having some pool time Saturday mornings with her daddy in the spring. I think she will be at an age where she can grasp some things better and this way she can have some daddy/daughter time while I get my own time too!
