I am a librarian at a University with a strong military tradition and a very strong ROTC program. Once a year the ROTC cadets get to practice with/experience what it is like to be around/in/on a real Blackhawk helicopter. They fly right over the library and land on the lacrosse field behind the building. It is an awesome sight to see and I get choked up every stinking time.
Here they are flying over the first time
And here they are returning and landing

I know it is not the same, but in 2002, I was at game 7 of the World Series in Anaheim, CA. 3 stealth fighter jets did a fly over and my seats were pretty close to the top, so i literally got goosebumps and had tears in my eyes. I never knew something so simple as a fly-over could bring out such emotions.
